TERMS OF REFERENCE (TOR) FOR THE STEERING GROUP (SG)
The SG shall consist of the Chair of Governors, Vice Chairs of Governors, the Head Teacher, Deputy Headteacher, Msgr Vincent Harvey and Godfrey Doyle. The Clerk will also be in attendance.
All other Governors are welcome to attend the SG.
As all key decisions will be referred to the Full Governing Body (FGB) a quorum is therefore not deemed to be applicable.
The SG will meet at least once during each term according to the Meeting Schedule.
The Chair of Governors will chair meetings and in his absence one of the Vice-Chairs will deputise.
Minutes and action points will be recorded by the Clerk who will prepare a first draft within seven days of the meeting for review by the Chair and Head Teacher. The Minutes will be submitted to the next available FGB for any further comment and approval.

To ensure that the Catholicity of the school is maintained..
To work with the Head Teacher and the Senior Management Team (SMT) in discussing and developing the strategic direction of the College.
To ensure that the College’s Admissions Policy is developed and to monitor all matters relating to admissions through the Admission Committee.
To develop strategies that enable the Governing Body to discharge its responsibilities in monitoring the appropriate targets across the College, e.g. SEF, Pupil Progress, Budgeting, Section 48, Ofsted and other reports etc.
To assist the Head Teacher in promoting good communication with the parents, Parish communities, the local community, feeder schools as well as local business and commerce.
To work with the Head Teacher in discussing and monitoring key topics that may have an impact on the College.
With the assistance of the Clerk, to ensure that all relevant topics are considered and covered in the various Agendas throughout the school year for the SG, FGB, the Finance & Resources Committee and for the Curriculum Committee.
To undertake any other ad hoc tasks as requested by the Governing Body.
The agenda and supporting papers should be sent electronically to Governors 7 days prior to the Meeting.
